Heart First

  • November 15, 2016

“Heart First” uses the newer poetic form of the “tricube.”  Introduced by acclaimed Sacramento poet, Phillip Larrea, the tricube consists of three syllables per line, three lines per stanza and three stanzas.

Heart First

Comfort is

the past, worn

and heavy

we hold on

stuck in place

can’t forgive

what if we

try letting

go, heart first
