Moondance

dancing in the moonlight, feet reforming small mounds of sand
the tiny events of my life reshaped, regrouped into piles of shifting memories
scattered and crushed
the ocean smooths, compacts, wipes my sandy surface clean
moonbeamspuppetstrings move my limbs to star-crazed rhythms

awake, body and spirit, from your sluggish dream into moonstarawareness
dance with the elements in your soul, wind twining through your form in
counterpoint
dance within the earth
until you are spent
and can sleep
without days
without nights
without dreams
