La Loba Wolf Woman was inspired by a story told by Clarissa Pinkola Estes in her book, "Women Who Run with the Wolves." It is a story of the Southwest Pueblo People about the ones known as the Bone Collectors. La Loba is a healer, a woman who painstakingly collects the bones and reassembles the skeletons of wolves in order to bring them back to life. The story is a metaphor for picking up the lost pieces of our lives and souls, and in the process of putting them back together, being recreated in freedom.
